In 2022, Sail Nova Scotia raised funds to support sailors and athletes who compete in our of province regattas in an “Unsupported Olympic and Non-Olympic class.

These are classes not currently listed in the Sail Canada and Sail Nova Scotia Performance Pathways.

In 2024 supported Performance or Olympic Pathway classes were ILCA 6 (female), ILCA 7 (male), 29er, 49erFX, and 49er. Athletes in these classes must be working with a coach. Athletes not working with a coach (ie Masters sailors) are eligible.

“Support” refers to Coaching Support, Equipment Support, and Financial Support in place for those classes.

Sail Nova Scotia will receive applications twice per year (January 1 and June 1). These will be judged by the Steering Group.

Sail Nova Scotia where opportunities exist. ie. Social Media, speaking engagements, newsletters, etc.
